For the month of September, we focused our thematic unit on apples.
Children were able to research and participate in discussions about apples. Based on their knowledge, they completed a nonfiction writing about apples. We then used apples as manipulatives for counting and conducted a taste test to gather data to create a graph. We then used the rest of the apples to create an apple sail boat that the children were able to sail on water using a blow dryer to simulate the wind.
