TECHNOLOGY RULES

Technology in the classroom is more prevalent today than ever before. New technologies are emerging everyday. Tablets have made textbooks just an option. Smartphones can do most functions a computer can. They can also serve as a calculator. Technology in the classroom makes classes more fun for students and it is the way of the future. But with technology comes serious responsibilities and consequences if rules are not followed. Technology rules will be our next focus.

CLASSROOM TECHNOLOGY RULES

Food or drink is prohibited around computers or any technology such as printers, digital cameras, or projectors.
All cell phones must be on vibrate during class.
Cell phone use in class is only allowed with teacher approval and MUST be for academic purposes.
Absolutely NO pictures will be taken in class for any reason on cellphones, digital cameras or other devices.
Only educational games and websites approved by your teacher are allowed during any non-instructional time.
Any recordings, either visual or auditory, on cell phones or any other devices without permission are prohibited.
Use of texting or social websites in class is STRICTLY prohibited.
Students are not authorized to load any software onto computers, or use any programming code that may cause viruses, malware, spyware, worms, or Trojan horses.
Never download anything without permission.
Make sure to take extreme care of classroom technology. Use BOTH hands when carrying devices and make sure not to throw, slam, drop, or do anything destructive to devices. Some are very expensive and may be hard to replace.
Protect all passwords and personal files. Do not let anyone have access to your personal information.
Do not conduct any form of cyber-bullying or participate in harassing behavior at any time.
When finished using any computer, log completely off of the computer.
If there is a technology problem of any kind, notify your teacher. DO NOT try to fix technology problems yourself.
