9th Grade Choices
Class of 2028
Core Classes
All 9th graders will take 9th grade English.
All 9th graders will take 9th grade Social Studies.
All 9th graders will take 9th grade Science.
Your math course is based on what math class you're currently taking.
Are you in Algebra 8?
Are you in Intermediate Algebra? or a Telescoped Algebra 8 / Intermediate Algebra?
Geometry is the next step.
Some students choose to repeat Intermediate Algebra, in order to have a solid foundation for the rest of high school mathematics.

Electives
Not all electives will be available for 9th graders, so we ask students to choose 8 potential electives.
Though not a graduation requirement, many 4-year colleges and universities require students to complete 2-year minimum of World Languages. We offer Spanish, French, Arabic, and American Sign Language.
Health & Fitness for Life are elective courses that are required for graduation. Most Millers get those done in 9th or 10th grade.
After you finish Health and Fitness for Life, you can take other Fitness or Health offerings.
Students need a full year of an art credit. All of our arts courses will meet the graduation requirement.
We have access to all of the districts' courses in career or technical education.
Many of the CTE courses will meet the graduation fine arts requirement.
If you have a goal of going to college, but you know you have some barriers to achieving that goal, AVID might be the class for you.
