Hi, I'm Tigerlilly Powers, I'm in 12th grade and I'm one of the co-presidents of student council. As co-president I work with students and administration to promote school spirit, plan fun events such as the Homecoming dance and W-Intersession, and create a positive environment at Washburn. I'm also the editor in chief of The Grist, I work with the Washburn Webcast, and I'm on the track team. My favorite part of being on Student Council is working with many different groups of people. I love hearing different perspectives that can help us achieve our goals. For next year I'm excited to bring new voices into conversations and continue Washburn traditions and make the 100th year of Washburn the best yet!   

My name is Yahya Yusuf and I am the Co-President of student council. I work with the leadership board to be an active voice for the school and to help improve Washburn on a day to day basis. I am also captain of the football team, work with Unified and people with disabilities, and I am on site council. My favorite memory of student council was leading Washburn’s first W-Intersession. It was so fun and the energy was so high! I am always looking forward to being in touch with the community and making a positive impact in any way possible. 

Hello! I am Maggie Huisken and I’m going to be a Junior next year and, I love being a leader of Student Council. I feel very lucky to be apart of a very special, tight night group of people that is Student Council. My favorite student council activity is setting up for Homecoming every year because it really brings the whole group together!

My name is Max Vrooman-Locke and I am in 10th grade. In Student Council, I work to be a voice for this years Sophomore class. I also play Washburn soccer and track and field and participate in Outdoor Adventure Club! My favorite memory of Student Council organizing our first ever W-Intersession in 2024! 

My name is McKenna Laird. I am the communications lead for Student Council. My job is to get important information such as spirit week themes to the student body. I use different media like the Weekly Webcast or our Instagram account to do this. My goal this year is to focus on student feedback, so please feel free to contact us about anything! I am a senior and have been on Student Council since my freshman year. I am a NHS member, a tennis captain, and a lacrosse captain. My favorite Student Council memory was the incoming freshman open house. I got to introduce Washburn to future students and enjoy some pizza with my fellow members. 

Hi, my name is Aaron Stoa and I am the advisory lead for student council! I am also captain of the tennis team and co-president of ASU.
