It is necessary to notify the school of any contagious conditions such as COVID, pink eye, strep throat, head lice, scabies, or ringworm. The Health Office will take appropriate measures to minimize the effect on the school community.
The Counseling Island, a satellite of the Watercourse Counseling Center, is also located at Whittier International Elementary School. It provides mental health resources and counseling for students and families. Call school social worker, at 612-668-4177 for additional information
The Health Office is staffed each school day from 9:05 a.m. to 3:35 p.m. by a school health services assistant who has first-aid training, CPR training, and clerical experience. A licensed School Nurse is not present at Whittier International each day, but a resource professional is available on request to provide consultation to students, parents/family, and staff regarding health concerns and issues.
