It is our priority to support you in you work as a Special Education Teacher in MPS. It is important to take time to engage in deep learning that supports technical skills, quality, and content of crafting Equitable Evaluations and Actionable IEP’s. Please work with your building principal to determine the need for a substitute and funding to attend 2 different focused learning sequences: Crafting Equitable Evaluations and Creating Actionable IEP’s. These learning strands have 3 segments:

  1. Training with our Asst. General Counsel Kim Mesun on what goes into special education 101, writing a legally 2017-2018 compliant document, use of the Due Process Notebook as a reference guide and timelines.
  2. Learning with District Program Facilitators (DPF’s) on the tools available to craft quality content focused individual students.
  3. Open Due Process lab to support you in general Q & A in EdPlan navigation, content crafting and monitoring system set-up.

Register to attend by doing the following:

  1. Prior to registering, please seek approval from your building principal to access qcomp funds to pay for your sub.
  2. Register by logging into eCompass https://ecompass.truenorthlogic.com/U/P/Channel/-/Guest/Login
  3. Then, select one day of training on evaluations and one day of training on IEP’s by using the eCompass course/section codes above.
  4. Enter the absences in to AESOP
  5. Attend and Learn
