School gardens are a meaningful way to provide experiential education about the environment, agriculture and nutrition. They can also transform classroom curriculum into hands-on, interactive learning. Minneapolis Public Schools is home to over thirty school gardens, and that number grows every year! These gardens provide opportunities for students to be active participants in the local food system, grow their knowledge and skills, and build classroom community.

The True Food Farm is located at the MPS Nutrition Center where our Central Kitchen is located. We grow flowers, pollinator-friendly, medicinal plants, fruits & vegetables, all in line with our True Food approach.
In collaboration with Pollinate MN, we host students for an in-hive experience, educating them about the vital role of pollinators in our ecosystem and their significant impact on our food system. 🌿🐝
