Co-taught with Mrs. Lancaster. English 12 is a graduation required, yearlong course focused on reading, writing, speaking, and listening. We will be engaging in critical thinking practices as well as a variety of discussion strategies to interpret and analyze different types of texts including novels, essays, articles, lyrics, and speeches. We will compose persuasive, argumentative, literary, and rhetorical analysis essays to convey our interpretations of the texts we read. We will make, delineate, and evaluate arguments and conduct research on numerous topics. In addition, we will practice public speaking while watching, reading, and analyzing many of the most influential speeches.
