The phone number I have listed is my personal cell phone number. If at any point this school year we have to go to distance learning I believe it is important for students and families to be able to access me directly. If I am not in the middle of teaching I will attempt to take texts and calls from 7:30AM-3:30PM. You can always leave a message and I will get back to you within 24 hours. IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR CHILD TO DIRECTLY CONTACT ME THROUGH MY PHONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND I WILL CERTAINLY HONOR AND RESPECT YOUR WISHES.

ABOUT ME

I absolutely love being a teacher at Minneapolis North Community High School. This will be my 13th year teaching at North. My family and I have lived in North Minneapolis for over 20 years. I love teaching US History because if we want to understand and confront all the problems facing our country today we must understand the deep roots of these problems. I want students to become historians rather than just learn about history from one perspective. I want my students to analyze multiple perspectives from our past to come to their own conclusions and solutions. We will spend a great deal of time analyzing, discussing and writing about primary sources from the past together as a learning community. This year I will be teaching 2 sections of a University of Minnesota US History class as well as a section of 9th Grade AP US History. I love helping students taking a college level course and gaining the confidence that they can compete academically with any students across the country and across the world. When I am not teaching I enjoy coaching football at North and spending time with amazing wife Jen who also  teaches at North and our two kids we love so much, Logan (16), who is a junior at North, and Maddie (14) who is a freshman at North.
