Compensation
Students and families can be compensated for participation in research or evaluation activities. Compensation can be mentioned in marketing, informational material, or consent forms, as this would be considered an incentive.
Researchers/Evaluators may offer compensation at set points during a project, or at the end of the project.
Researchers may give schools monetary compensation. Individual school staff may not be given individual monetary compensation for research activities taking place at school, during the duty day.
Thank You Gifts
At the end of a project, researchers/evaluators may offer small monetary or non-monetary thank you gift to students and families, for participating in research activities. Thank you gifts cannot be mentioned in marketing, informational material, or consent forms, as this would be considered an incentive.
