The aim of all IB programs is to develop internationally minded people who recognize their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet. Central to this aim is international-mindedness.
International-mindedness is a multifaceted concept that captures a way of thinking, being and acting characterized by an openness to the world and a recognition of our deep interconnectedness to others.
-From the document What is an IB Education?
We spend a lot of time talking about our multifaceted identities. All students even take a class, Race & Identity Studies, which is required for graduation.
We encourage all students to take two or more years of a new language.
We expect all students to do a minimum of 20 hours of service each year. Students track this service and graduates with 80 verified hours earn a scholarship from the Roosevelt Foundation. Students who pursue the IB Diploma and Career-related Certificate do additional work in the community.
