Disability Mentoring Day (October 16, 2026) - Platteville, WI
Disability Mentoring Day provides students with the opportunity to visit local businesses and learn directly from professionals in the community. Throughout the experience, students gain insight into what it takes to own and operate a business, manage employees, and handle the day-to-day responsibilities that come with different careers and industries. By exploring a variety of workplaces, students are able to connect classroom learning to real-world experiences and future career possibilities.
The event encourages active participation and meaningful conversations. Students are invited to ask questions, interact with business owners and staff, and learn more about the skills and qualities needed in the workforce. Disability Mentoring Day helps students build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and develop a better understanding of career opportunities within their local community.
Career Prep and Life Skills Disability Day (April 16, 2026)
The Career Prep & Life Skills Day brings together students from area school districts for a day of learning, connection, and new experiences. Throughout the event, students have the opportunity to meet and interact with professionals from a variety of fields, including youth apprenticeship programs, banking, law enforcement, and team-building organizations. Each presenter shares valuable real-world knowledge and practical life skills that help students explore future opportunities and build confidence for life beyond school.
One of the most meaningful parts of the day is the opportunity for students to connect with peers from other schools. The event encourages teamwork, communication, and relationship-building in a welcoming and supportive environment. Watching students step outside their comfort zones, meet new people, and support one another creates a strong sense of camaraderie that makes this event especially memorable year after year.
REED Day (May 7, 2026)
REED Day provides students with significant support and the opportunity to spend the day outdoors at Governor Dodge State Park participating in a variety of recreational and educational activities. Students are able to explore nature through hiking, learn important fire safety skills, try fishing, and participate in fun outdoor games and group activities. The event creates an engaging and welcoming environment where students can experience new activities while enjoying time outside with peers and staff.
At the heart of REED Day is the opportunity for students to build social connections and create positive shared experiences with others from surrounding schools and communities. The day is designed to encourage inclusion, friendship, and participation while providing opportunities that students may not typically have access to in their everyday routines. Watching students interact, support one another, and enjoy new experiences together is what makes REED Day such a meaningful and memorable event.
