We need help picking up raffle prizes, get gear organized to transport to base and all the last minute details to prep for the event.
Volunteers for this role will meet at the Valley office a week or two before (TBD) the Seek the Peak event to help with preparations.
Volunteers in this role need to be able to lift boxes to organize and pack boxes for transport to the Expo, or drive to various locations local to the Valley office for gear pick-up.
Volunteers play an essential role in registering participants either at the kick-off party at Tuckerman Brewing Company (4:00 -7:00 PM the night before Seek the Peak) or the Aprés Hike Expo at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center (4:00 -7:00 PM the day of Seek the Peak).
As a volunteer in this role, your primary responsibility would be to help participants complete their registration process smoothly and efficiently with a warm and friendly attitude with a good eye for details.
Greet participants and confirm registration details at the kick-off party (Friday) or Aprés Hike Expo (Saturday).
Give out badges, packets, and raffle tickets based on fundraising (raffle details are here).
Answer questions from registrants.

If assigned the first shift of the night, you should plan to arrive one hour early to help set up registration.
Volunteers in this role primarily sit at a table for their shift and are the first in-person contact with registrants. They should be focused on creating a positive experience with a warm and friendly attitude.

Volunteers helping with setup of the Aprés Hike Expo will be asked to arrive at 1:00 PM on the day of Seek the Peak. Clean-up volunteers will be at 7:00 PM until everything is cleared and packed. This role works closely with MWOBS staff to share the physical work of set up and clean up.
Setup Volunteers arrive at 1:00 PM:
Assist with setting up tables, chairs, etc.
Help set up banners, signs, prizes and giveaways.
Follow instructions from MWOBS staff.
Cleanup (7:00 PM after event):
Assist with packing & storing supplies.
Volunteers for this role should be comfortable lifting 25-40 pounds and moving boxes and supplies for vendors across the venue. There are set-up and clean-up roles that do not require heavy lifting, so indicate this preference when signing up to help with this role.
Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience at the Aprés Hike Expo from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on the day of Seek the Peak.
Guest support volunteers are the face of the event -- positive, energetic, and enthusiastic!
Your main tasks will be to circulate among the guests, engage with them, answer their questions, and guide them to different areas of the event.
Talk to attendees about the event schedule, activities and special attractions.
Help sell tickets to two raffles held only at the Expo (separate from the registrant fundraising level qualifying raffle tickets - raffle details here).
Hand out free items to participants.
Provide assistance with lost & found items.
Help attendees with accessibility needs.
Volunteers in this role walk around and are comfortable talking with folks, can think on their feet, and solve problems creatively when needed.

As support staff for concessions at the Aprés Hike Expo from 2:00 to 7:00 PM on the day of Seek the Peak, your primary responsibility is to help the caterer with the setup, serving, and breakdown of the concessions area - serving and eating areas. You would work closely with event organizers, caterer, and other staff members to ensure food is served and crowd is flowing efficiently through serving lines and dining area.

Restock food and serving supplies as needed.
Cleaning and maintaining concession areas.

The primary responsibility for this role is serving alcoholic beverages at the Aprés Hike Expo from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on the day of Seek the Peak. The drink station will be set up at the venue at 2:00 PM, with serving starting at 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
You will work closely with MWOBS staff while serving to ensure that IDs are checked and the booth is properly stocked, staffed, and maintained throughout the event.

Volunteers in this role MUST be at least 21 years of age and comfortable being on their feet most of the time to serve drinks.
The volunteer parking attendant is an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about helping others and ensuring that everyone has a pleasant experience at the Aprés Hike Expo. From 3:30 PM to 7:30 PM on the day of Seek the Peak, they are responsible for directing cars to designated parking areas with a friendly smile and clear directions
Direct cars to designated parking areas.

Maintain smooth traffic flow and avoid congestion.

Look out for safety hazards.
Arrive 30 minutes early to get acquainted with any last-minute traffic flow changes due to conditions.
Volunteers in this role are standing on their feet, with some walking around but primarily in a stationary position.
Volunteers who help staff our pop-up tent at Joe Dodge Lodge in Pinkham Notch from 6:00 - 9:00 AM on the day of Seek the Peak.
Ability to explain trail options based on the ability level of the hiker.
Answer any hiking-related questions, including trail lunch spots & bathroom locations.
Coordinate "Hike and Make Friends" participants to ensure hikers meet their assigned groups.
Arrive at 5 AM for early setup - be punctual to ensure a 6:00 AM start time for hikers!
Volunteers for this role should be active hikers with deep knowledge of the White Mountains and Mount Washington hiking trails.
We need a couple of volunteers to "host" hikers who arrive to the Expo early. This role is approximately a 3-hour commitment until the Expo opens.
Help setup water station with snacks. Arrival for hosts is at 1 p.m.
Chat with hikers as they arrive so they feel welcome to hang out and cool down in a specific area of the Expo (away from the rest of the setup happening before the official opening at the Expo at 4 p.m.).
This volunteer role ends at 4 p.m. when the Expo opens for all.
Volunteers in this role will be a mix of sitting down at a stationary location and/or walking around to gather early hikers into the appropriate area as well as resupply of water and snacks.
