The myth is that it is not a trait, but a skill. When students think they are bad at math they think they are not a math person, but that is not the case. People have considered other people a math person based on there race or gender. For example, the video stated that... Asians are better than white, white are better than black, and men are better than women. Mistakes are important in math class because you learn from them. For example, when I started to fold I got really confused and I got it wrong, but the second time I did it I knew what not to do. In the end I got it right and then moved onto a rhombus. Personally, I love math and I think if you put effort into it you like it more. Based on my experiences in the past I haven't always loved math, but as I've worked harder I've learned to understand it more. One thing that I can improve on my math mindset this year is building connections from other math problems to another.
