Purpose Statement: My purpose is to inspire childhood creativity to share joy with the world.
I want to improve my classroom organization (spatially and improved systems) in order to have a more efficient and meaningful classroom. Clean up systems, organization of supplies, etc. can be improved
Reflection:
We have started this process, but it is ongoing
We are continuing to move and reorganize supplies so the layout of the classroom is smoother.
Clean up systems are a challenge! We still need to find a system that works for an extended period of time.
I want to break up my lessons in order to work in small groups to teach skills, address issues, etc. This will create a more engaging environment which allows students to meet their goals in art.
Reflection:
We have incorporated more skill building into lessons and tried to give students autonomy in their creations.
Students have multiple things to work on at any given time in order to keep everyone making art everyday.
I want to learn from Mrs. Patrum, and utilize her experience to become a more organized teacher.
Projects have gotten bigger and better
Classroom systems have improved
Survey Reflection: The student surveys were very positive! The vast majority of students said they love art, finding it a fun and positive environment.
Areas to improve:
Noise level: Some students feel it gets too loud, I agree! I want to find new systems for keeping the class quieter
More free draw: We can do this from time to time!
Less explanation at the start of class: We try to keep lessons short, but they are important to learning!
More 3D projects: We would love feedback from you all at a later time about what projects you wish we had done.
