What I did on the "hikes" at Chaco canyon, was I hiked and found an amazing town called Pueblo Bonito. This place was huge! Contaning hundreds of rooms. The place was amazing, having four stories high buildings on average! This place had lots of rooms of storage, and the doors were for some reason, were really small. But overall, this place is truly a great sight to see.
The hike we did after that the next day was called Casa Rincona da, and we saw a gigantic kiva for spiritual uses. We think This took hundreds of years to build. They built this place to celebrate the longest and shortest days of the years. This helped them know when to plant their crops of to harvest their crops. It must have taken a huge amount of time to build.
The very last hike we did was called Chetro kelt, and was like a small Pueblo Bonito. Realy just a town. There were kivas and rooms and storage all over the place! People had their own kivas!
What was the Learning Target: I understand how some of the first people to live in North America adapted to their climates and geography.
In the winter, it was freezing cold and quite hot in the summers. Here there were tall mountains, reaching a whopping 6,685 feet tall! You must also find beautiful rivers, with giant lakes.
What was the region you studied?
The region I studied, was the north eastern woodlands. This region is a wonderful place just like Durango. It gets cold and snowy in the winters, and hot and humid in the summer.
How did you meet the standards? Did you Meet them?
Yes, I very much met the standards and got strait Meets, along with a few Exceeds.
Explain all four grades on you rubric.
Exceeds: If I've done more than required.
Meets: I have done the required work.
Approaching: I don't do as much as I'm suppose to do.
Developing: Barely did any work .
What could you do better to improve on your next project?
I could do more research and help my group more. I did my best but can always work harder.
