Geographers ask: What is it? Where is it? Why is it there? Why do I care?
Welcome to AP Human Geography! This course is designed to introduce students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that have shaped human understanding, human use, and human alteration of the Earth’s surface. Students will employ spatial concepts and landscape analysis to examine human social organization and its environmental consequences. Additionally, students will learn about the methods and tools geographers uses in their science and practice. This course is designed to meet or exceed the experience of a one semester college introductory human geography course. Through this course students will prepare to take the College Board AP Human Geography exam in May 2025 and, depending on the college, possibly earn college credit.
