How to Join CHOIR!
Registration!
Do you love singing and want to be part of the Mounds View Choir tradition of excellence?
We want you!
Choir is a place where you will deepen current friendships and develop new ones with positive and involved people. You will have experiences that will stand out as the best parts of high school for you. These experiences can include concerts, tours or just getting the chance to sing and move and be creative every day.
Many students and families are overwhelmed by the registration process. This page contains links to several documents meant to help you plan a schedule at Mounds View High School that includes Choir. Please contact me if you have questions: Sarah.Waller@moundsviewschools.org
This document describes the different choirs and some of the many extra ways to be involved in singing at MVHS.
This document is an overview of different ways to make Choir/music work in your schedule. There are over 400 students at MVHS in music. If they can do it, you can too!
This document shows you the school's requirements for each year of high school. Some students may have variations due to individual learning needs. There are many spaces for choices throughout the four years of high school. You want to use your choices to pursue the courses that broaden your learning opportunities, connect you with positive people at Irondale, prepare you for a constantly changing job market, and complete all credit requirements as outlined in the Registration Guide.

No audition necessary! Come join the fun!
Bel Canto & Concert Choir
IT'S NOT TOO LATE!
All are welcome to audition - even if you or a friend (not in choir right now) neglected to register in February.
There are 4 components of auditioning:
Scales/warm ups to check vocal range high and low
Sing a portion of a song selected
Sight reading: 1 exercise
Tonal memory: Two 4 note passages are played on the piano, and you sing them back to me.
After auditions I will place students in the appropriate choir, even if you signed up for a different one in February.
What you need to know...
Student behavior and work ethic in choir and other classes will make a difference in the selection process. All students in all choirs are expected to meet the requirements outlined in our Choir Handbook and in class every day.
The BEST way to advance in the choir program and reach your singing goals is to stay in choir and build your singing skills.
