Competitions

The format of the regional competition is multiple choice. Teams made up of four students each compete online to demonstrate their knowledge of personal finance by taking an online test covering questions in 10 areas of personal finance. Winning teams are then invited to Securian Financial in Minneapolis for the state championship with an opportunity to earn a free trip to nationals in Cleveland, Ohio. All students can compete at the regional level; however, Mounds View is only allowed one team at the state level. Historically, Mounds View has done very well at State and has gone to Nationals many times.
