Hello, allow me to introduce myself!
This is my sixteenth (wow!) year of teaching and I have been a Highview Hawk through all of them! I went to high school in Great Falls, Montana and came to the University of Northwestern - Saint Paul in the fall of 2005. I graduated with a degree in Middle School Social Studies and Elementary Education. In June of 2017 I graduated with my master's degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University, St. Paul. While at Highview I have taught ELA, Science, Study Skills, and Social Studies, but I love Social Studies the most! :)
I have been married to my husband, Jake, for 3 1/2 years and we live in Plymouth with our 1 year old son, Henry, and our 10 year old Golden Retriever, Argos. I took the year off from teaching last year to be home with our son and am excited to be back in the classroom part time (periods 4-7) this year. In my free time I love to travel, read, explore new coffee shops, ski, and spoil my seven nieces. I also absolutely LOVE being a mom!
Teaching is something I knew I wanted to do from a very young age (my second-grade teacher told me I would make a good teacher someday!) and I consider it an absolute honor and blessing that I get to do this! I highly value communication! Please reach out if you have questions or concerns throughout the year.
