Class Objectives / Assessments

All class assessments this year are designed to help demonstrate the learning your student has completed throughout a specific unit. Sometimes assessments look like tests and quizzes, other times they are essay questions, other writing assignments, presentations and projects.

All assessments fall under the "Performance" category in the gradebook. Per Highview's grading policy, performance events are weighted as 80% of the overall grade. Students will have 1 opportunity, within a two week window following the initial assessment, to complete re-learning work and re-take an assessment if proficiency was not demonstrated the first time. Proficiency is considered an assessment score of 75% or higher.
