I'm Brooke Hall founder and owner of Mother Strong Doula Services
A little about me:
I am a born and raised Texan woman, born into a single mother home with an older sister who is 10 years older than I. After graduating high school, I had planned to go to a local collage to become a peds or L&D (Labor and Delivery) nurse, however, I took a different route, married and moved to Washington DC, while in DC I worked as a private nanny and photographer. From there the military took us to Idaho where I worked at an on installation fast food restaurant and then started working at a local cattle ranch as their nanny and business assistant; while working for the ranch I gave birth to my first son Marcellus, 21 months later we were moved back to Texas just a few hours from family where I gave birth to my second son Linconn. When my youngest was a few months old I founded and now co-own a professional organizing and cleaning company where we now reside here in San Angelo, Tx where I serve most of my clients but now, I'm branching out to serve and love on even more mommas in the great state of Texas! In the fall of '24 I hope relocate to the Abilene or central/east Tx area!
Motherhood:
Marcellus 2019
Linconn 2021
Why I became a doula:
I've always loved and been drawn to pregnant mothers and babies, even as a young girl. When I was around 32-37 weeks pregnant with my first baby was the first time I'd heard the term "doula". I looked it us some and decided that we couldn't afford one and I was probably too late anyways. However one of my nurses at the hospital was a doula and she was so kind and extreamly helpful. She was honest and upfront with me and told me "I'm your L&D nurse and I can be your acting doula also but only while I'm on the clock here at the hospital." When she was with me my labor seemed so calm, I felt so confident, and she was so encouraging to me. She secretly asked a fellow nurse to call her whenever it was getting near time to deliver my son, so they did, and she came in 2 hours early just to be there for me!
It was an amazing labor and birth!
After that I did tons of research and following on social media. Once I could afford it I was able to go through an online training to become a birth and postpartum doula as well as a childbirth educator.
I'm dedicated and excited to support new and experienced mothers through their first parts of motherhood. My goal is to do this job for years to come and create a beautiful sustainable career and one day be able to have a "scholarship program" of sorts to be able to support low-income mothers through their journeys as well.
Whenever a momma needs me, I get to do what I love most!
