Dear Mote Donors,

During my internship, I gained valuable experience in data entry using programs such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, ACDSee, and Adobe Photoshop. I also acquired hands-on field experience in data collection and photo identification, which involved photographing manatees at various sites and later analyzing these images in the office. This process helped identify individual animals and track their movements and reproductive status, contributing to ongoing conservation efforts. This internship provided me with a deeper understanding of manatee conservation and allowed me to engage with several additional programs, including the Sarasota Dolphin Research Program, Animal Care & Husbandry Program, Sea Turtle Rehabilitation Hospital, Coral Gene Bank, and the FWC Pathology Lab. The stipend I received allowed me to fully immerse myself in the opportunities offered by Mote Marine Laboratory and the Sarasota area. Overall, this internship has been instrumental in guiding me toward my future career goals in wildlife conservation. I am incredibly grateful for the experience and the professional connections I was able to make. Thank you!
