BOOK WEEK DRESS UP DAY

Book Week dress up day is a fun way to celebrate books and reading and can be a chance for us to share characters and books that have made an impression. Costumes don't have to be elaborate and a quick google or search of pinterest will throw out plenty of ideas for easy to put together outfits. Similarly authors and publishers often provide costume suggestions and print outs of their popular books on their websites. See below for some suggestions and ideas for this year's theme of "Reading is Magic".

THEME

This year's theme 'Reading is Magic', offers a range of possibilities for boys to explore when deciding on a Book Week costume!

The theme celebrates reading stories and their amazing power to transport minds. Boys are encouraged to be curious about the wonders in their world. The magic of reading also lies in its power of enticement; a good story provokes conversations. Talking about the stories with others connects the reader with other readers. Wrapped around all of this are the "tricks" and skills of our amazing writers and illustrators, as they use all their powers of language and illustration to engage the reader in this world they are building.
