R.E.A.D. Dog

BARK!  My name is Hank, and I am Counselor Tammy's work partner at Morris Area Schools. We provide animal-assisted activities to the students at Morris Area.  Counselor Tammy and I are a registered/certified therapy dog team, and we are trained as an R.E.A.D. dog team.  I am Therapy Dog MERCER'S son.   I was the 'Pick of Litter' puppy!   My littermates and I started being trained from day one to be working dogs.  I was the puppy most likely to succeed as a therapy dog, just like my Daddy Mercer.   I wuff coming to work at Morris Area.  Dad and I share job responsibilities since being a therapy dog is intense work!  Some students need to pet and love me while others need to take walks, race with me, or release some stress playing a game of fetch.  While my fur is water repellent, now and then a good cry with me does a world of good.  I live with my handler, Licensed School Counselor Tammy Roth, and her husband Zach Lies.  You can schedule an appointment to talk to me, read to me, or hang out with me through Claire Ballantyne in the MAES office.
