Ai Wei Wei's exhibition "S.A.C.R.E.D." was a documentation of the 81days he spent in illegal detention in Beijing for "subversion of the State". He was kept in a windowless room and was watched by two guards for 24 hours a day, even when he needed to shower or use the bathroom. He was forbidden to communicate, and the only source of ventilation was a small wall fan.
Maciej Toporowicz's "Serial Killers" piece is a series of fingerprint paintings which depict the faces of 42 infamous serial killers. Toporowicz made them because of his / society's fascination with popular culture, violence, and death.
