I was asked to choose an exhibition space and I decided the main hall (Hintze hall) to be my space as I liked the grandeur feel of the space that I could manipulate freely and that this western traditional interior would create a definite contrast to my intention to create a traditional Korean style garden space.
Traditional Korean style pavilion built with painted wooden chopsticks, paper straws and thin wooden sticks. Gouache and acrylic paints used to paint.
The building is designed by a British architect G.R Harding in 1900 and finished construction in 1910. Present within the Deoksu palace in Seoul, South Korea. The fact that such a western building was inside the traditional Korean royal palace was striking for me to witness.

Traditional Korean decorative patterns drawn with markers, fine liner and Gouache paints. Then manipulated on Photoshop to change colours and to apply as backdrop for my portfolio.
