I my self as a filipino She really showed me what you can do when mixing cultures together and she wants to take that creativity and mix it with some modern and filipino traditions. She loves materials that have different textures and how to use them by working with her hands to collect her ideas and explore them in detail and how to make them come to life. She uses natural fibres from the Philippines such as pina silk and abaca. which these are very know in the Philippines, and what message does it bring which I really like.
I have been thinking that I could try using different types of fabric or material at home and do different ways of knotting longer, shorter, thin and thick and see what the textures feels like
Maybe do strips in al different lentos and see what it feels when you brush against them from side to side.
This artist inspires me because her work is very bright ,colourful, and the textures of the weave where really amazing and I love the thickness that she creates when making these art works I love how she uses patterns that are very playful and colourful the way that she is layering her work repeating the pattern once or twice and then using a bigger wool to create different sizes and colour patterns if its bright or natural.
Her work inspires me because she is a japanese fibere artist that doing knitting and crochet. What I really love about her is how she is using the technique and trasforming it into something more three dimetional and architectual. I really love how she is exploring colour, nature and form.
One of her work was kids playground centre which when you see little kids playing in there smiling having fun but also very mysterious the reason is that it reminds me of a tree house of wonders exploring the formation and texture .
Another works of hers was really interesting to me her architectural work they remind me of the Tudor times where villages had huts that where made out of hay and they looked very fasinating and I love how she has kept the same pattern goign bigger then smaller.
These pictures remind me of some crotchet patterns but actually they were made of steel which I was suprised and they look very simple but pretty and also very 3D.I love the combinations of colour and pattern like a weav but made out of steel. think this gives me the oppertunity to try soeting new and experiment more in what I have explore.
Her work really inspires me I love how she experiments more than one she loves to tell a story in her work and how she puts her experinces as an artist in her work and she loves to tell a story and the realtionship and how it connects. I want to connect my work and tell the journey of how I got here with my experiments and research. When she says that she draws cast objects around her space I think that I need to do some drawings of my ideas and do many experiments with it test colour, materials, shape, pattern and from.
He is also a filipino artist who trasforms weaving into a whole new level. He uses his work to tell a story about him self and his family with multi coloured threads and express the journey of what he is doing. He also looks at surfaces and looks at pattern and layering. The colours that he used are very natural but also bright colours more like a jungle telling and I love how all of the threads are in diffrent directions. This gives me an idea that I could use bigger fabric and use some detail by sticthing of layering faric on top of each other.
I choose this artist beacuse his scluptures reminds me of my noodles, and I want to try using diffrent types of noodles and see the diffrencre between textures also colour. His work interest me because his work is mostly circular shape that would countinue non stop. Do more drawings and paintings maybe do more stitching and layering.
Her work really amazed me becase her work look really mysterious the texture that she uses is rough but also soft and really detailed when she is making the circles. I love how each circle has gone bigger then smaller, she also use natural matrials for example rope, wool and charcoal. For me I think that I need to develope my knotting into a higher level and do somehting diffrent.
I choose this artist because I really love the colours that he uses are very bright and natural he makes 3D shapes using the fabric and gives it a sense of life and I really love the pleats that he uses in different shapes and sizes which is what I wanted to do to my costume and letting it breathe.
I really love how he wants to break and re wite desighns professionand to create. He is intrestead on the human being from and what is it like being a human that you coloud be free telling a story knowing what it is about and not guessing.
I choose this technique because I wanted to try diffrent stlyes .When using this technique at first I thought it will be very easy to be honest when I tried to do one of the samples I had so much problems. The reason is that the material that I had was very thick when you had to make a arcordian fold and the needle would not go thorugh so I decide to do some three simple ones which were very easy and were intresitng in shape.
The reason why I choose this is because I want to test different kind of fruits or vegetables and see what the difference it but also I want to make my own dyes maybe using acrylic paint, fabric paint or crushed soft pastels and see which is more stronger.
