Foundation skills

• Read with accuracy, appropriate rate and expression.

• Use word analysis skills and phonics to decode words.

Reading

• Summarize key details in a text and include their themes and main ideas.

• Identify and judge evidence that supports ideas in an author's argument to change a readers point of view.

• Make inferences.

• Include information from various sources to answer questions.

Writing

• Write opinions with reasoned arguments. Provide examples and facts that are group logically.

• Develop plot with dialogue, description, and pacing of action.

Speaking and Listening

• Report on a topic, present opinion with your own ideas in a logical sequence.

Language
