I graduated from Duluth East High School in Duluth MN. I received an Associate of Arts degree from Vermilion Community College and a Bachelor of Science degree from Bemidji State University with a major in Social Work and minors in Psychology and Sociology. I received my master's degree in Education from Southwest State University. I started as an elementary School Social Worker for the Montevideo Public Schools in 1994.
