Distance Learning Expectations

•Have your child treat online learning like the classroom

–Maintain a routine as you would if they were attending in person

•Wake up, get dressed, have breakfast

–Don’t wear PJ’s or anything you would not send your child to school in (this

includes parents & other household members)

–Video Etiquette

•Please remember when the camera is on everyone can see & those who might be

helping the student and/or those just walking in the background. Proper attire is required.

•Please remember when microphones are turned on others can hear as well. Only use appropriate language at all times during online instruction.

•Be on time & ready

–Use restroom before and/or during breaks & lunch

–Eat before and during breaks & lunch

–Have materials ready

•Create a learning space free of distractions

–Make sure students have a seat & desk/table

•No laying on the floor/bed, etc.

–Have supplies ready

•Pencils, workbooks, paper, computer charger, headphones, etc.

–Remove phones & other distracting items (toys, food, etc) during school hours

•Parent Tips & Suggestions

–Make sure to check in & monitor your child(ren) in case they need help or support

–Make sure to check in with teachers and/or the platform your child is using (e.g., Google Classroom, Class Dojo, Remind, etc.)

–Bookmark frequently used website pages

–Save passwords and login information

–Discuss & review expectations with your child(ren)
