With a partner of your choosing, complete the following:
Think critically about what determines the value of items.
Explore social media outlets and note what society believes is valuable based on what people post.
Create a list of items that are considered valuable by society.
Choose one from the list and write an original poem either supporting its value or exposing its lack of value.
Each of you must complete your own original poem
Use figurative language and poetic elements to appeal to the audience.
After writing your poem answer the following questions on the same document as your poem:
How is perceived value of objects different from their actual value?
Who determines the value of objects?

After completing the above tasks and assignments, ask Ms. Simpson for the lesson 1.2 mastery check (in-person or via email).
