Dear Wildcat Community,

Welcome to a new school year! I am excited to continue serving as Principal of Monrovia High School and extend a warm welcome to all our returning and new students, families, and community members.

We had a great year last year! Our students showed incredible dedication, reflected in our State Testing results: CAASPP ELA scores were 70% Proficient or Advanced and our Science scores increased by 17% to 36% Proficient or Advanced. Additionally, we are immensely proud of MHS earning AP Honor Roll Gold Status for our outstanding AP scores. Monrovia High has a rich history of success and cherished traditions, and I am deeply committed to honoring and building upon that strong foundation. We have continued to develop systems that generate a positive learning environment where students thrive.

We, as staff, updated our Vision, Mission, and Learning Outcomes, as well as our grading practices, to better meet our students' needs. Our vision, "Cultivating academic excellence and the success of the whole child through rigor, equity, and belonging," guides our mission, "Empowering students through inclusive relationships and real-world instruction to think critically and flourish beyond graduation." To achieve this, we emphasize our Core Values (The Wildcat Way): "Work Hard," "Act Responsibly," and "You matter." We are focused on our Student Learner Outcomes (Wildcat PRIDE) to help our students become productive, resourceful, inclusive, dedicated, and empathetic individuals. Together with the unwavering support of our Assistant Principals, Erika Ramirez Morales and Naeiri Polocky, and our entire staff, we are dedicated to establishing clear practices and procedures that foster a positive, effective, and inclusive learning environment. Our goal is to empower every student to reach their full potential and successfully pursue their desired next steps after high school, regardless of their goals.
