My mom usually hosts all the parties for our big family gatherings, three generations of them. She usually makes this sherbet ice tea. My family loves this recipe, it is so good.
All you need are two ingredients, (but, you can add more if you like).
Ingredients:
Sprite, 1.25 liter bottle
Rainbow Sherbet (any company is fine)
What you need to do first is to get the ingredients ready.
Then get a pitcher or punch bowl, and pour the sprite into it
Then add three scoops of rainbow sherbet and gently mix until it melts.
Then add 4-7 more scoops of sherbet for flavor, it is your choice whether to mix it or not. You could also mix in some extras like cherries, raspberries, lime slices, or add-ons like sprinkles for appearance.
And that is your Sherbet Tea Recipe. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
Crust:(or you can substitute for pre-made grocery store pie crusts)
1 ¼ cups all purpose flour
1 tsp sugar
½ tsp kosher salt
½ cup cold unsalted butter
¾ Tbsp cold water
Filling:
2 lbs apples such as Gala, Macintosh, Red Delicious or Granny Smith
1 Tbsp lemon juice
1 Tbsp corn starch
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp kosher salt
Crumb Topping:
½ cup butter
1 ¼ cups flour
⅓ cup brown sugar
⅓ cup sugar
Directions:
First you make the crust. Stir the flour, 1 teaspoon sugar, and salt in a medium bowl.
Lay out a cutting board and cut the butter into cubed-size pieces. Then add it to the flour.
Rub the butter between your fingers and cover it into the flour, making it into small flakes.
Add the cold water and mix it with a fork. Make sure there is enough water so the dough makes lumps in your hand.
Make the dough into a ball and wrap with Seran wrap. Press it to make a disc shape and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Now you make the filling. Cut or peel the apples, cut the pieces away from the core, and cut into ¼ inch pieces.
Add apples, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and salt in a large bowl. Then set aside.
Now you make the crumb topping. Heat a stick of butter in a bowl and put it in the microwave for 30-60 seconds.
After that add the flour, brown sugar, and sugar to the butter. Now stir with a fork gently to make crumbs.
Now preheat the oven to 375 degrees. On a cutting board or cooking mat sprinkled with flour, roll the dough into a 12 inch disc.
Press the dough into the pie pan, trim extra crust and crimp the edges.
Now add the apple mixture to the pie pan evenly. Sprinkle the crumb topping over it.
Bake an hour and check after 40 minute if the top is golden brown. Now you’re ready to eat. Yum!
(You can skip steps 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, if you are using a pre-made crust)

Merry Christmas! ‘Tis the season to cook some new recipes for the holidays! From pumpkin spice creamer to a nutella Christmas tree, here at Lion’s Roar, we’re covering all of your holiday cooking needs.
As you sip your drink, you reach down to your plate to dip… Nothing? Every good Christmas dinner needs a good biscuit for everyone to enjoy, even the grain-free, nut-free, and dairy free communities! When you cook a batch of grain free coconut biscuits, you are cooking biscuits for everyone- no one deserves to not be able to dip a delicious biscuit into their drink, be it coffee, or cider. When executing the 33 minute process of cooking these, make sure you do not add the stevia, cinnamon, or chocolate chips, as they will simply be scones, and scones, as delicious as they are, can not replace the delicious taste of a buttered roll. You will, before cooking them, want to flatten them into biscuit-shaped rolls before, but make sure they are relatively flat, to ensure they cook all the way through.
3 Tablespoons ground flaxseed
3 Tablespoons unsweetened applesauce
1 Tablespoon fresh lemon juice or vinegar
½ cup + 2 Tablespoons water
½ teaspoon xanthan gum
1 Tablespoon pure maple syrup or honey
1 teaspoon vanilla
Liquid Stevia to taste
2 Tablespoons soft or melted coconut oil
1 cup coconut flour I used Let’s Do Organic flour – it is not fine ground
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
¼ teaspoon salt
½-1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ cup allergy-friendly mini chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350° F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, set aside
In a large mixing bowl, whisk or blend with an electric mixer the ground flax, applesauce, lemon juice, water, xanthan gum, maple syrup, vanilla, stevia, and coconut oil until the mixture thickens up. Set aside
In a small to medium bowl, whisk together the coconut flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon
Add the coconut flour mixture to the flax mixture and mix thoroughly until dough begins to form
Add chocolate chips and mix by hand until combined
Form the dough into a large disk about ½-inch to 1-inch thick. Cut the dough into 8 pieces and separate them a little
Bake for 18 minutes or until the tops of the scones are lightly browned
Allow the scones to cool a bit before eating. Serve warm or at room temperature with coconut butter, jam, honey, or Daiya cream cheese.
Enjoy!
Speaking of coffee, those of you who drink it, and those of you with parents who drink it, may enjoy milk or creamer in their coffee, and dairy free, sugar free pumpkin spice creamer could make their Christmas Season just a little bit brighter. This simple recipe can be made by you, to surprise your elder family members, or just to add a little pumpkin flavor to your own. If you’re feeling into this recipe, and if you start now, you’ll have a nice thing of pumpkin spice creamer in 10 minutes.
1 cup canned coconut cream, unsweetened* (not cream of coconut, which has sugar)
1/2 cup unsweetened almond-coconut milk** (OR carton coconut or rice milk if you have almond allergies)
2 Tablespoons canned pumpkin puree
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice blend
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon liquid vanilla stevia*** (start with less than add more to taste)
Whisk together all the ingredients (or process in a mini blender briefly) until well blended and smooth.
Store in a jar or bottle in the fridge. You'll need to shake or stir the creamer each time you use it since the spices will settle.
Add 2-3 Tablespoons for each cup of hot or cold coffee.
Enjoy!
Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how delicious are thy branches? As it turns out, your Christmas tree can be very delicious if you bake this nutella tree to go along with your real tree this year. Like most Christmas trees, it will only take 1 hour to decorate, or in this case, to bake. If you are looking for a new chocolatey pastry this season, make it festive with this simple puff pastry and nutella recipe, but be aware, parent supervision is recommended due to the fact that you will be shaping the puff pastry solely with a knife and will be using raw egg in this recipe.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out one puff pastry sheet into a large rectangle on a lightly floured surface and place on the prepared baking sheet.
Lightly score puff pastry into the shape of a Christmas tree (triangle) with a wide base. Spread chocolate-hazelnut spread over the triangle in a thin layer with the back of a spoon.
Roll out the second sheet of puff pastry to a large rectangle and place on top of the first one. Carefully trace the shape of the chocolate covered triangle underneath and cut out the Christmas tree shape and the trunk. Pull away excess pastry.
Lightly score 2 lines down the middle of the triangle to form a tree trunk that is narrower at the top and gets wider towards the base. Using the trunk as a guide, cut branches into the sides of the triangle.
Twist the branches away from you, trying to get in 2 turns on the lower branches. Continue moving up the tree, twisting away from you as you go.
Cut a small star out of the excess pastry; place on top of the tree. Brush the star and tree with beaten egg.
Bake in the preheated oven until puffy and golden brown, 12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly, about 5 minutes. Slide onto a serving plate, using a piece of parchment paper if needed.
ENJOY
Cook's Note: You can also use coconut oil to grease baking sheet instead of butter.

Some of you may have been talking to your parents about contributing to thanksgiving dinner this year. If you have, or if you haven’t, you may want to try some of these recipes, and contribute to the biggest meal of the year.
Pumpkin pie is a classic recipe for Thanksgiving, and is loved by many, but, you and your family may want to try “No Bake, Gluten Free, Dairy Free Chocolate Cream Pie- Vegan, Soy Free, Nut Free.” This no bake, allergen friendly pie can provide an alternative to pumpkin pie, or even a second pie, to provide a second approach on Thanksgiving dessert. Although it may not need to be baked, you will need to assemble it, and freeze it for 4+ hours.
YIELD: 8 SERVINGS
PREP TIME: 10 MINUTES
9 inch prepared gluten free graham cracker style crust
1 1/2 cups canned coconut milk, not lite
1 1/2 cups water
3/4 cup granulated sugar or coconut sugar
6 Tablespoons cocoa powder
6 Tablespoons cornstarch
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
Non-dairy whipped topping, or homemade coconut whipped cream, optional
dark chocolate, to make chocolate curls or mini chocolate chips, optional
To make the chocolate pie filling: In a medium sized saucepan, add in coconut milk and water. Whisk together.
Add in all other ingredients and whisk frequently while heating over medium heat.
Continue to heat and whisk until mixture starts to boil and thicken. Remove from heat.
Pour filling into the pie crust. Chill in refrigerator at least four hours or overnight. I like to place it in the fridge without the lid initially to let some of the steam escape from the hot filling. Then after about 20-30 minutes, I put the plastic cover on and store it with the lid on while chilling.
When ready to serve, top with non-dairy whipped topping or whipped cream and chocolate shavings or chocolate chips. Refrigerate any leftover pie.
Who wants turkey? Or duck, or chicken? Have you ever been unable to decide which of these delicious birds you want? I know I have. You may be surprised to hear that you can have all three, without taking up all that precious space on the Thanksgiving table. You may have heard the word ‘turducken’ before, and you may not know what it means, but don’t worry, I’ll cover the basics for you: Turducken is a recipe that consists of a duck that is stuffed with a chicken, all of which is stuffed into a turkey. This recipe cleverly combines the delicious taste of turkey, duck, and chicken into one, big dish, completely erasing the decision process behind which one to eat this year. Be careful, though. If you want to make this wonderful addition to your family’s Thanksgiving dinner, it does take around 13 and a half hours to make, and will require some cooking experience.
1 cup kosher salt
1 cup brown sugar
1 gallon water
18- to 21-pound turkey, skin intact and boned except for drumsticks
House Seasoning, recipe follows
Cornbread Dressing, recipe follows
3- to 4-pound duck, boned
3- to 4-pound chicken, boned
Paprika
House Seasoning:
1 cup salt
1/4 cup black pepper
1/4 cup garlic powder
Cornbread:
1 cup self rising cornmeal
1/2 cup self-rising flour
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Dressing:
7 slices white bread, dried in warm oven
Cornbread
1 sleeve saltine crackers
2 cups chopped celery
1 large onion, chopped
8 tablespoons butter
7 cups chicken stock
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 tablespoon poultry seasoning
5 eggs, beaten
To make the brine: Mix salt and sugar with the water. Brine is ready when the mixture is completely dissolved. If the water is heated to quicken the process, make sure it is cooled to room temperature before placing meat in. Let the 3 birds sit in brine in the refrigerator overnight.
Preheat roaster to 500 degrees F.
Lay turkey skin side down on a flat surface. Dust turkey with House Seasoning and add 1/4-inch layer of cornbread dressing. Lay duck skin side down on top of dressing. Dust duck with House Seasoning and add 1/4-inch layer of dressing. Repeat with the chicken.
Begin trussing up the turkey at the neck. Insert metal skewer about 1/2-inch from the edge and up through the other side. Run butcher's twine between skin and skewer and tighten to draw both sides together. Continue down to legs. With every other skewer, draw together the duck and chicken skin. Tie together turkey legs to resemble standard turkey. Dust turkey skin with paprika.
Roast turducken for 15 minutes. Then turn the roaster down to 225 degrees F to finish, approximately 3 hours. Remove turducken from roaster once the internal temperature in the chicken reaches 155 degrees F. Let rest for at least 20 minutes before carving.
Cut across the middle of the breast completely through. Plate thin slices containing turkey, duck and chicken.
House Seasoning:
Mix ingredients together and store in an airtight container for up to 6 months.
Dressing:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
To make the cornbread, combine all ingredients and pour into a greased shallow baking dish. Bake for approximately 20 to 25 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool.
To make the dressing, crumble dried white bread slices, cornbread and crackers. Mix together and set aside. Saute chopped celery and onion in butter until transparent, approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Pour over corn bread mixture. Add stock, mix well and add salt, pepper, sage, and poultry seasoning. Add beaten eggs and mix well. Follow instructions above to stuff birds.
Cook’s Note
If using a smoker to cook, smoke at 225 degrees F for 5 hours, rotating every 20 to 30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 155 degrees F and external temperature reaches 165 degrees F. Try to keep the flare-ups from the fire to a minimum.
We all have come to love the overall savory taste of Thanksgiving dinner, but why not add a delicious shredded brussel sprout and quinoa salad? Combine the taste of hearty quinoa with the crunchy, bitter taste of brussel sprouts (For those who don’t know, quinoa is a hearty, but not bitter grain, which resembles rice). This bursting-with-flavor recipe is moderately simple, as the most difficult part could be either making it look nice, or cooking the quinoa Even if you are reading this on the day of, don’t worry, this elegant salad will only require about 20 minutes of your time, if done correctly. For those of you who want a fun, new taste never experienced on Thanksgiving before, this salad is the perfect choice for you.
INGREDIENTS
2 cups whole brussel sprouts
1 cup cooked quinoa
½ red onion
2 oranges
¼ c dried cranberries
sprinkle of pumpkin seeds
Dressing: equal parts apple cider vinegar, olive oil, orange juice, drizzle of honey or maple syrup
INSTRUCTIONS
To begin, cook about ½ cup dry quinoa according to package instructions and let it cool. Measure out 1 cup for the recipe.
Using a sharp knife, cut the brussel sprouts into slivers so that they fall apart. You can also use a food processor to shred for you, but I find it goes quickly.
Chop up your red onion as well, and segment your oranges over a bowl to catch the extra juice (also squeeze the extra discarded center of the orange to release more juice).
In a large bowl, throw all your ingredients together, including the dried cranberries and pumpkin seeds.
Using the juice you collected from segmenting your orange, add equal parts apple cider vinegar, olive oil, and a drizzle of honey or maple syrup into a separate bowl and whisk together your dressing.
When you are ready to serve your salad, dress it with your homemade dressing and add a few extra cranberries and pumpkin seeds to the top along with salt and pepper.
