What kind of testing does a school psychologist do?

School psychologist provides cognitive assessments to determine a students strengths and weaknesses that may help in better understanding how they learn. By understanding how students learn the multidisciplinary team can provide them with the correct type of instruction. 

School psychologist also complete assessments that address behavioral and adaptive skills. 

If you feel that your child is not performing as well as they should you can refer them to the Student Assistance Team at your child's school to begin the process of finding the correct instruction for your child to succeed. 

Types of Rating Scales you may be asked to complete based on areas that need to be assessed.
