Big Day For Pre-K

Throughout this school year, we will be implementing a new curriculum called Big Day for PreK. I am excited to see how much your child will learn with this curriculum. I will be posting pictures, announcements, and resources related to each theme.

What Do We Learn in Preschool?

The 5 developmental domains of child development are targeted in our preschool program. These domains are:

• Gross Motor (Any lessons that the children are playing vigorously)

• Fine Motor (Ex. Grasping pencils, lacing beads, etc.)

• Cognitive (Ex. Learning the Alphabet, Numbers, Counting, etc.)

• Speech/Language (How to communicate and interact with peers and adults. Mrs. Megan Brown, our Speech Therapist, will work with children who need specialized services.)

• Social/Emotional (Ex. How to regulate and express emotions appropriately)
