5th Grade Social Studies
In 5th grade, we’ve been diving into a mix of reading, writing, social studies, and critical thinking skills. Students are learning how to restate questions, identify key evidence, and explain their thinking clearly in both discussions and written responses. In social studies, we’ve been exploring early American history, including Native American tribes, the colonies, and how Virginia began to succeed. Students are practicing analyzing sources, asking inquiry-based questions, and making connections between what we read and what we already know. We’re also building strong vocabulary foundations and strengthening collaboration through turn-and-talks, group activities, and extension tasks. It’s been a busy and exciting season of growth!
