School Webcams
Each school now has webcams. Attached is a link to help with the install and another link to show how to adjust the microphone volume in screencastify. When testing the mic that is integrated into the webcam, I found that I had to lower the mic volume to get a better sound on my recordings. (TIP: For optimal audio quality, when adjusting mic volume, it's best if no yellow or red appears in the soundbar when you speak normally into your microphone.)
We have gotten several reports regarding the microphones not working on the new webcams. The issue has been isolated to computers that have had another webcam (or imaging device) plugged into them before. To resolve the issue follow the steps outlined in the short attached video.
If you are having issues with sound quality when you record your voice please let me know. We have found that the issue most of the time is screencastify using another device besides your webcam as the microphone. It is an easy fix.
