Exothermic and Endothermic Reactions
Reactant: The substance that is changed in a physical or chemical reaction.
Product: The resulting substance from a physical or chemical reaction.
Endothermic Reactions: Endothermic reactions have a lower ending temperature. They end up being colder than when they started.
Exothermic Reactions: Exothermic reactions have a higher ending temperature. They end up being hotter than when they started.
Density
Density is a measure of how much ‘stuff’ is in a given space.
Volume: Volume is how much space something takes up.
Mass: Mass is the measure of how much ‘stuff’ is in an object.
To figure out density, you need to be able to find an object’s mass AND volume.
Mass is measured in ‘grams’, and volume is measured in ‘milliliters’ or ‘cubic centimeters’.
Since density=mass÷volume, density’s units are ‘grams/mL’ OR ‘grams/cm3’.
