Databases

A database is a subscription-based website (paid for by a school or library) that gathers quality and accurate information from magazines, journals, research, and other reputable sources.  Using a database is an easy way to gather information for research for class papers or general interest.  We have several options for your use!

FactCite: Use FactCite to find information on almost any topic.  It is a smaller site but is a great place to explore topics or start your research.

Gale

Cameron's Collection:  You are not alone.  Cameron’s Collection is completely private and covers many mental health and wellness, social, and emotional issues --  everything from stressing over school to dealing with tough relationships .

Gale eBooks:  Use this to access our virtual reference library.  There are numerous encyclopedias to support your research.

High School: Use this to get the most comprehensive information on almost any topic.

Opposing Viewpoints: Use this to find information on controversial topics.

PowerSearch:  Use this to search and find results from High School, Gale eBooks, and Opposing Viewpoints at the same time.

Environmental Studies: Use this to support learning about our world.

Science:  3D support for Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Human Anatomy

Britannica: English or Spanish options

Britannica:  Use Britannica for information on almost any topic.  Readability is easily adjustable for preschool-college level research.

ProQuest: many options

ProQuest: This link will take you to ProQuest's Central search page where you can enter your topic and it will give your results from seven ProQuest databases.

CultureGrams:  Use this to get information on U.S. states, other countries.  Information includes life, history, maps, and images.

SIRS Discoverer: This is another great option for general research.

SIRS Issues Researcher: Use this to get information on controversial topics.
