All subs will need to complete Steps 1-10 in order to be prepared to teach in the classroom.
LEVEL 1
(Required for all New Substitutes)
STEP 1 Activate your MCS username and password
- Call the Help Desk at (209) 574-8600 to reset your login password.

STEP 2 Setup MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication)
Cybersecurity: Watch and follow the steps in the video above to setup your MFA. Then review the following information on the websites to learn how to protect your account:
STEP 3 Create a Schoology Account
Go to this website to register for a free Schoology Account
Make sure you select Student
Enter the following Access Code: VM5V-SX32-FQ6QH
Complete the fields to register for your account
When entering your email, enter it in the following format:
4. Click Register.
5. Confirm your email. You should have received an email from Schoology to confirm your email. Any emails sent to the [username]@mcs4kids.com email will be in your @monet.k12.ca.us email inbox. Click on the link in the email and login to Schoology.
STEP 4 Access to Office 365
To get to Microsoft Office 365 that has Outlook Email go to:
www.mcs4kids.com > Staff tab > Staff Applications > MCS App Portal
You can also get to the MCS App Portal directly at https://launchpad.classlink.com/mcs .
Once at the MCS App Portal you sign in with your District username (not email) and password. You can find the tile for Office 365 to click or use the search box at the top of the MCS App Portal to type in "Office" for the tile to appear.
STEP 5 eLearning Module
Follow these steps to find and complete your New Hire Tech Training:
Go to the MCS App Portal by going to www.mcs4kids.com > Staff tab > Staff Applications > MCS App Portal. You can also get to the MCS App Portal directly at https://launchpad.classlink.com/mcs .
Sign in with your District username and password.
Find the PD Catalog and click on it. You can also use the search box at the top of the MCS App Portal and type in "PD" for the tile to appear.
When you are at the PD Catalog you will then search for "New Hire Tech for Subs 23-24" > click on the course name > click the Start button.
To complete the course, you will need to go through all the slides in the eLearning module. It should automatically be marked as complete when you are finished. If it does not, then click the "I'm Finished" button back in the PD Catalog for this course to mark you as completed.

Schoology is our Learning Management System (LMS). It is the primary means of distributing and collecting information and assignments between the teacher and the students. This YouTube playlist contains training for the most important aspects of the LMS.

Upon successful completion of Level 1 training, substitutes will receive compensation at the daily susbtitute rate, as well as be added to the Frontline system to activate their status to accept job requests.

PowerTeacher is the program for attendance and grade book for Teachers. You will need to complete both PowerTeacher and PowerTeacher Pro Part 1. These are self-paced will take about 2 hours to complete.

Upon successful completion of Level 2 training, substitutes will receive 5 hours at the hourly sub pay rate.
Going Beyond
There are many more videos to watch and extend your learning. These videos are available on demand and can be accessed at any time. There is no compensation for completing additional videos, but they do hold value to help you be better prepared for the classroom.
We also reccomend that you contact the CIPD office to connect with our curriculum specalists. When you call, let the office know your current assignement so we can connect you to the proper support.
