We will discuss strategies that gradually become more workload-intensive but go a long way towards creating inclusive learning environments. This session is not about the ‘why’ it is about the ‘how’. What can we do at a unit level to help the students feel more included, and how can we create space for our students to be their unique and authentic selves?

In this seminar, you will be introduced to various grading options in Moodle which will assist with consistency and somewhat decrease workload throughout the semester. The session will cover various grading methods such as how to add a rubric, a ranged rubric and a marking guide to an assignment dropbox. Key differences between the three advanced grading methods will also be explored from a technical perspective. Time will be allowed for a brief overview of the educational underpinning of these tools.

In this seminar, Dana will give you an overview of the fundamentals of generative AI: What it is, how it works, and how it can be used. The session is designed for those who have either seldom or never used AI and want to get up to speed. The session will also be useful for those who have been using ChatGPT and want to explore different platforms and learn about some prompting basics. Jackie will also be giving a reminder of where and how to locate your AI statements in your Moodle unit. This session will be the first in a series on generative AI, and during this session, you will get a chance to vote on the topic of the next session.
