The International Student Wellbeing Workshops are a new series of health and wellbeing workshops tailored for international students. Run by the International Student Engagement team, and in collaboration with other groups and services, these workshops aim to support the mental, emotional and social health of international students.
This series will provide valuable tools and resources to help you navigate the challenges of adjusting to a new environment, balancing your personal and academic life, and living as an international student in Melbourne.
If you have any suggestions for workshops you would like to see, please reach out to ise.events@monash.edu with the email subject 'Wellbeing Workshop Suggestion'. We will take all suggestions into consideration but unfortunately cannot guarantee we will implement all of them.
WEBINAR | S2 2024
In the first of our International Student Wellbeing Workshops, we discussed how to manage your mental health and cope with stressful situations. We were joined by a series of speakers who presented on a range of topics surrounding mental health and navigating it, particularly as an international student.
Yvonne from Monash Counselling spoke on understanding what mental health is, the signs, how study stress can impact mental health, and strategies students can implement to manage it. Yeni from Student Academic Success provided some valuable study advice and strategies. Manny from Allianz Partners Australia shared insight into accessing mental health support as an international student in Australia. Ayushi, one of our Global Amabassadors, also provided an international student perspective on managing mental health and study stress.
