On behalf of our wonderful community here at Howitt Hall, we are delighted to welcome you to Howitt in 2025. The Residential Life Team (RLT) and Orientation Team (O-Team) are eagerly expecting your arrival and we cannot wait to meet you as soon as possible.Â
Our vision is to provide a respectful, inclusive and safe community for all residents to ensure that you feel comfortable at Howitt - a true home away from home environment. Please make sure to check out the range of programs, initiatives and events that are made available to you throughout the year by Monash Residential Services as well as your in-hall Residential Support Team and O-Team!
Howitt Hall was established in 1966. It is named after Alfred Howitt who was an avid anthropologist and explorer who worked as a key member of the Royal Society of Victoria (hence the camel mascot). 2016 marked the 50th anniversary of our community’s existence.Â
The mascot for Howitt Hall is a camel.
