Giang Tran

I am a PhD candidate in Economics in the Department of Economics at Monash University, Australia. I am honoured to work with my supervisors, Professor Pushkar Maitra and Dr Rafat Mahmood.

My research interests include health economics, education economics, labor economics, and applied microeconometrics. My current research focuses on exploring determinants of health, education, and labor outcomes in developing countries, with a particular emphasis on Vietnam.

I hold a Bachelor of Economics from Foreign Trade University in Vietnam and a Master's in International Economics from the University of Warsaw in Poland.

Before starting my PhD, I gained over five years of experience in monitoring and evaluation, impact assessment, and development research. I have a strong track record in writing research proposals and designing both quantitative and qualitative tools for projects funded by international organizations, including the UN, IFC, ADB, DFAT, and Oxfam.
