On behalf of the Deakin Hall Residential Life Team (RLT), we would like to welcome you to our community.Â
If you are new to Monash Residential Services (MRS), then we hope you are looking forward to settling into your new home here at Deakin Hall, and if you are a returning resident, we're thrilled to welcome you back!Â
At Deakin Hall we are respectful of all community members – we value diversity, inclusion and accountability.
Deakin Hall is the oldest of the Halls of Residence at Monash University. It is named after Alfred Deakin who is remembered for the important role he played in the early days of Federation. He was born in 1856 and became Australia's second (1903), fifth (1905) and seventh (1909) Prime Minister. His friends called him "Affable Alfred".Â
At Deakin, you are a part of a community which values respect, inclusivity and providing support for it's students during both their residential and university experience. We appreciate that each resident is unique and aim to provide a range of events and initiatives that enable everyone to get involved and feel connected within our community.
