HALL FACILITIES

Kitchens are located on each floor. These are equipped with stovetops, a microwave, toaster, kettle, storage lockers, and a communal fridge.

The ground floor kitchen is located next to the Common Room in Deakin East. 

Bathrooms are located on each floor. There are additional communal bathrooms available on the ground floor foyer of Deakin East. 

Laundries are located on each floor. Equipped with front loading washing machines, tumble dryers, irons and ironing boards.  

The ground floor laundry is located in the courtyard opposite the external Deakin West stairwell.

The Common Room (J.A McDonnell Room) is located on the ground floor of Deakin East, and is quipped with a projector, couches, tables, and table tennis table. A vending machine is available just outside this room in the ground floor foyer.

The Proj (Mark Davison Room) is located on the ground floor of Deakin East, and is equipped with a projector, couches, tables, and a piano. There are communal bathrooms located at the back of this room.

The Games Room (D.M. White Room) is located on the first floor of Deakin East, and is equipped with two pool tables and couches.

The Lounge is located on the first floor of Deakin East, and is equipped with couches, TV, and tables.

The Loft (Logan’s Loft) is located on the third floor of Deakin West, and is equipped with couches, a TV, and ample tables and chairs.

The quiet study room (Stafford Kay Library) is located on the first floor of Deakin East, and is designated for individual study. It also has a community library which residents are welcome to use. 

The group study room is located on the first floor of Deakin East and is designated for group study. 

Open from 8am to 10pm daily. The Proj on the ground floor of Deakin East is equipped with a piano and also functions as a music room. 

Located in the courtyard, swipe access is required to enter.

Mail boxes are located in the Deakin East foyer opposite the vending machine, and in the Deakin West foyer. 

It is recommended that you secure your mailbox with a lock of your choosing, which you must provide. 

Parcels and large items can be collected from the Administration Office.

Located in between Deakin East and Deakin West. Features plenty of seating and shaded areas and two BBQ pits for residents to use.

A communal garden managed by Monash Residential Services. Residents are welcome to use this garden to harvest a wide variety of herbs and vegetables. 

Located in the Deakin East Entry Foyer

Small red bins for general rubbish are located in each kitchen, and recycling stations are located in the middle of each floor, with yellow bins for general recycling and purple bins for glass recycling. Big bins are located in the courtyard. 

Larger waste stations are located behind the MRS Administration Building, near Blackburn Road. 

There are also composting and specific waste disposal and recycling facilities available.
