Our March newsletter went out yesterday with some important resources and information but was slightly ill timed to the announcement of the eastern monarch overwintering numbers. This year the World Wildlife Fund-Telmex Telcel Foundation Alliance (WWF) and the National Commission of Protected Natural Areas in Mexico (CONANP) reported the eastern monarch population to occupy 1.79 hectares. This is almost double the from the population recorded last year that occupied just 0.9 hectares.
