The Regional Office of Industry, Commerce, and Employment (RoICE) plays a crucial role in enforcing laws and providing essential public services to promote fair trade practices and support economic growth within the region. Our office operates under the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Employment (MoICE) and is dedicated to ensuring compliance with regulations while facilitating business development and employment opportunities.

Law Enforcement
The RoICE is responsible for monitoring and regulating trade and industry entities to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Our enforcement activities include:
Inspection and Monitoring: Regular inspections of businesses to validate operational status and curb unfair practices, including business fronting and illicit activities.
Consumer Advocacy: Addressing consumer grievances and serving as a secretariat for the Consumer Dispute Settlement Committee, ensuring consumer rights are upheld.
Collaboration with Agencies: Working closely with agencies such as the Royal Bhutan Police (RBP) and the Department of Trade to conduct joint inspections and monitor business activities effectively.

Business Licensing: Issuance and renewal of business licenses, as well as handling changes in ownership and location.

Training and Support: Facilitating entrepreneurship training programs, supporting startups, and conducting awareness workshops to enhance skills and business knowledge.
Market Surveillance: Conducting regular market research to ensure fair competition and ethical trade practices, while also collecting data on market prices for essential commodities.
