Patient Preparation

1. Patient must abstain from intercourse or any other forms of masturbation 3 days before collection

2. Appointment should be made before sample send to laboratory

3. Sample should be collected in a place near the laboratory to avoid delayed delivery and fluctuations in temperature during transportation to laboratory

Sample Collection & Labeling

1. Collect all semen in the morning by masturbation and ejaculated into a sterile screw capped container that provided by laboratory. Report if any incomplete sample.

2. Label the container with name, identity number and the date & time of collection.

3. Keep the specimen in container at room temperature. Avoid large changes in temperature that may affect the spermatozoa after they are ejaculated into it.

4. Send the specimen to laboratory between 8.00am-10.00am on working day and within 1 hour after collection. Do not send the sample during weekends/public holidays.
